Casper is seeded # 4 and is on the same side as Federer, the top-seed.

Many people expected a semifinal between the two but tafter a long injury break Federer was not able to find his best tennis.

Casper wins his first match against Sandgren. With heavy conditions, due to rain it is challenging out on the clay.

In third round Casper overcomes Koepfer in a tough three-sets match winning 6-4 in the third.

In the semis, Casper plays Andujar who knocked out Federer. With his heavy claycourt game Casper wins his semifinal 6-3 6-2 and will face Shapovalov in the final.

Casper delivers a very good match with heavy forehands and good serving. With great focus and calmness, he wins the first set on a tiebreak. In the second set, he is able to get the brake and serve home the title on 5-4.

This is Casper’s second title and his first title in 2021
