Casper Ruud reached his third Grand Slam final in his career after beating Alexander Zverev in three straight sets in the semi-finals of the Roland Garros, French Open. In the quarter-finals he won in four sets against Holger Rune.

In the final, Casper faced Novak Djokovic.

In front of 15,000 spectators at the Philippe-Chatrier arena in Paris, this final was an intense match and ended with defeat (6-7, 3-6, 5-7) and Djokovic made history by winning his 23rd Grand Slam title.

“I think this is maybe the most important final that I reached, honestly,” Casper said on court after the final.

“Because first time was, yes, very cool. But here I sort of proved that whatever happened last year is just not like a one-time case. Even for next year when we come back to Roland-Garros, people are going to look, 'Oh, Casper didn't just make one final but he made it twice'.

This was Casper's third Grand Slam final. Casper also played the final of the US Open in September 2022 and last year´s French Open in June 2022.

Casper defends his number world #4 ATP ranking after the French Open final.
